Education Learning Outcomes and Relevance.

In summary the needs and concerns of today's youth form the foundation of The Seven Principles of RESPECTisms and their outcomes. The principles of RESPECTisms play a major relevance to their everyday lives cover many of the major challenges young people today face during their teenage years and into adulthood.

EDUCATION

Learning Outcomes:

  • Value your education
  • You never stop learning
  • Education comes in many forms

Relevance:

As well as teaching subject knowledge, teachers today also have to educate about education. Motivating students can be challenging because many young people have yet to appreciate how fundamentally their own decisions shape their futures. The long-term benefits of education and school achievement may seem remote.

Education can be the key to happiness and financial security, if learners can first learn to recognise their responsibility to embrace it. As teachers well know, lecturing young people about consequences, or how privileged they are to have access to good education, doesn’t work. Classes may not feel like a privilege and diligent achievers risk looking compliant and uncool to their peers. Helping learners understand that education is a lifeline, with immediate as well as long-term gains, is a priority for every educator.

Teachers are deeply familiar with the issues that enable or inhibit learning and the social and emotional needs that need to be addressed. Successful educating about education rests on practical action to nurture self-confidence and develop individual and social responsibility. The successful educator is the one who can convey not only the information about the empowering potential of education but also a tangible sense of its benefits.
