The RESPECTisms Agenda - Developing Responsible and Positive Young People In Your Home, School and Community

The RESPECTisms Agenda strives to develop a generation of young people of good character who will become responsible and positive individuals. Young people with a greater sense of hope and a positive outlook for their future. The RESPECTisms Agenda aims to deliver positive outcomes for all young people and is based on The Seven Principles of RESPECTisms; a timely set of character education principles that empowers and inspires young people to make better choices in their lives.

The RESPECTisms Agenda aims to nurture the development of positive character traits through life skills training and character education. Young people need to learn a wide range of academic skills, however in addition to providing academic instruction, homes, schools and learning/nurturing institutions should also provide young people with character education and life skills training. Character education and life skills training builds emotional intelligence in young people and they are just as important as academic skills in preparing them for future employment, social integration and participation in the community.

The emotional and social well-being of a young person's mind is crucial in creating a climate of respect and self-respect. The components of the RESPECTisms Agenda will work towards creating this climate where a young person can effectively learn and aspire to become an active shareholder in his or her community.
