| The Seven Principles of RESPECTisms has been developed with the needs and concerns of today's youth in mind. The principles of RESPECTisms cover with many of the major challenges that young people today face during their teenage years and into their adulthood. The Seven Principles of RESPECTisms engages students in a way that inspires them to think more about their life, behaviour and actions. The Seven Principles of RESPECTisms aims to nurture the development of positive character traits through life skills training and character education. Character education and life skills training builds emotional intelligence in young people and they are just as important as academic skills in preparing them for future employment, social integration and participation in the community. ? Through the use of RESPECTisms students learn to become better decision-makers, have ownership of their choices, and eventually feel confident and secure as they mature into adulthood The seven focus areas of RESPECTisms form important building blocks for all young people irrespective of age, race, class, religion or culture.
