New Sexual Bullying Programme Ready

Posted by: kenbarnes in MyBlog

Tagged in: Sexual Bullying

It has taken a lot of work but it has been worth it.  The Physical Contact Zone programme that can be delivered in-house is now ready.

The programme has proved very successful when delivered by c-a-n-i consultants.

This new  programme is delivered using a Power Point presentation which can be found on ‘The Physical Contact Zone’ CD. We have also created a facilitator's guide which will help with the delivery of the programme.

The area of sexual bullying is being spoken about more and more, we hope this new programme will go some way in education young people about this worrying issue.

Teeenage girls grow up too fast.

A quarter of teenage girls have experience violence at the hands of their boyfriends, and a third have been sexual abused, according to a report from the NSPCC.

Almost 90 per cent of the 13-17-year-old girls questioned said they had been in an 'intimate' relationship with a boy - although this did not always involve full sex.

Of those, one in six said they had been pressured into sexual intercourse and one in 16 said they had been raped. Others said they had been pressured or forced to kiss or sexually touch.

The findings have led to calls for schools to help girls trapped in abusive relationships - and to tell them that violence and pressure to have sex is wrong

Parents in England are to be given the right to complain about other parents who do not make sure their children behave in school, it has emerged.

Schools Secretary Ed Balls says it will help stop a single pupil disrupting the education of a whole class.

The right is related to what are known as "home school agreements", where parents have to sign up to support a school on discipline and homework.

Many schools have such agreements now but they are to be made mandatory.

Parents will be given barely any say in the content of sex education classes under Government plans to make the subject compulsory for children as young as five, a report warns today.

Schools are currently free to draw up their own policies on sex education and are obliged to consult parents.

But proposals unveiled by Children's Secretary Ed Balls earlier this year to make the subject mandatory in primary and secondary schools will inevitably limit parents' influence, says a report from the Family Education Trust.

Children under the age of 14 have become 'super-spreaders' of swine flu, leaving England battling a raging epidemic.

The number of swine flu cases has doubled in a week to 100,000 with most of the new cases among children below 14 years old, according to officials.

A third of those who have died from the virus have been under 15 and 20 per cent of those who have ended up in hospital were under the age of five.

The NHS is now planning for up to 65,000 deaths from swine flu, with 30 per cent of the population - and 50 per cent of children - catching the infection.

Meanwhile, a British family on holiday in Bodrum, Turkey, have been put in quarantine in hospital after a six-year-old boy was diagnosed with the virus.

Less than half of secondary school classes are set by ability despite Labour pledging to increase the practice.

Pupils were taught in sets in only 45 per cent of their lessons, the latest Ofsted figures show.

The 2007/08 records, obtained by the Conservatives in a Commons written answer, show things have hardly changed since 2002/03 when 44 per cent of lessons were taught in sets.

A teenage BNP supporter who drove a classmate to the brink of suicide has been convicted of racial harassment in a landmark legal case

The youth, 15, subjected his female victim to months of racist abuse, on one occasion telling her: 'Go back to your own country, you don't belong here.'

A court heard the 14-year-old girl - who had already moved schools once to avoid racist abuse - was also called 'wog, c**n, n****r, gorilla and golliwog' by her tormentor.

A female teacher at a top girls' private school has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting a pupil.

The alleged assault involved a 26-year-old teacher at the City of London School for Girls in the heart of the capital, and one of the pupils at the £13,000-a-year-school.

The matter came to the attention of police after it was reported by the headmistress, and the school is now assisting police with their enquiries.
