The Seven Principles of RESPECTisms For Kidz (Key Stage 2)

An engaging programme that contains seven life-changing focus areas that teaches young people about respect and responsibility.

This programme delivers fun and interactive lessons that can be used to support Primary SEAL, PSHE & Citizenship curriculum.

The Seven Principles of RESPECTisms for Kidz is based on a collection of stories about seven characters and their friends. In these fun and engaging stories the characters experiences at home and at school relay positive messages to the listeners about the seven focus areas of RESPECTisms. Responsibility - Education - Say No - Peers - Expectations - Consequences& Time. Simple and fun stories containing familiar dilemmas, problems and joyful events that the children can relate to

Story themes include: loss, talking to strangers, negative peer pressure, working together, supporting each other, dealing with complex emotions, falling out with each other, ways of tacking bullying, benefits of learning, perseverance, achieving goals, self-esteem, community, responsibility and social skills.

Each lesson offers the chance for your pupils to participate so that they can become fully involved in the meaning of the story being told and therefore understand the message more clearly.

Each story and lesson can also be used completely independently of SEAL and are designed to be perfect for all pupils, regardless of age or ability.

Using power point, video and role play our RESPECTisms for Kidz programme encompasses the VAK principle of learning/communication styles - Visual, Auditory & Kinaesthetic. The message of respect in reinforced in every session through the use of our RESPECTisms acronym.

Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning

Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning (SEAL) help pupils learn the skills that allow them to take control of their own behaviour. Many exclusions result from impulsive outbursts when emotions are high. SEAL contributes to reducing the need for exclusions by providing pupils and staff with more appropriate ways of managing, moderating and expressing their emotions, and resolving conflict.

* self-awareness
* managing feelings
* motivation
* empathy

The framework of RESPECTisms has been developed as a guide to assist young people in making better choices in their lives as they grow into adulthood.
