The Zone Light (Kidz)
There were two hundred and eighty expulsions for inappropriate sexual behaviour from primary schools 2006-07. In 20 cases the child responsible was just five years old. (DCSF). Teachers in a number of primary schools are growing more and more concerned after seeing their pupils interact in a "sexualised" manner with each other.
At c--an-i we believe that work on this area within the education system is all too often done on a remedial basis instead of preventative. We believe that by impacting a young children's minds earlier we can potentially avoid many of the issues that arise through their secondary school life.
We have adapted our 'The Physical Contact Zone' to suit the needs of this younger group in Key Stage 2.
The programme provides young children the knowledge and learning they need to achieve develop postive relationships. It presents the area of sexual bullying in manner that guides this younger group to an understanding of what it means to respect other people.
